In simple terms, Party Tent is the strongest Marquee available (other brands “heavy duty” are equal to our Party Tent’s “standard”)
  • UV treated, 210gsm “Ripstop” PE material (again, this is for the standard – the commercial is 240gsm) A Party Tent is made from the most durable tent material available.
  • Heavy duty windows in the proper size (many imitators will use large windows on every panel, making the tent cheaper to produce, but also making it structurally weaker and less stable, not to mention less private and MUCH hotter than you may find comfortable in summer.)

• Fire Resistance - Party Tents are manufactured with Polythene (PE)
  • Q: Why is this important?
  • A: PE is both structurally stable and fire retardant. It is made by applying extremely high pressure to a mixture of ethylene and benzaldehyde. It is the same material used to build bulletproof vests, cable coverings, and ship sails. It is the premier material in making marquees – don’t let anybody tell you different.

    A side note on fire resistance: Many companies build their tents using polyester; the same material used to make tracksuits. These (and other) companies will state that their tents are “fire rated”, but the truth is they are opening you up to some very real problems:

    1. Being “fire rated” isn’t good enough. The law clearly specifies that a fire certificate needs to be sewn on the marquee if you use it for any public event. If there is no fire certificate, it is not safe from fire.

    2. If one of these “fire rated” tents caught fire and collapsed on the people inside, the company who sold the tent would be reprimanded, but so would YOU. You would be considered liable because you did not ensure the materials conform to British Standards of Fire Redundancy.

    PE is very different from polyester. Every commercial and professional Party Tent has a fire certificate sewn into every roof panel of every tent, so you can be assured that your tent will not only be stable, but safe as well.

It’s this simple – if you are using the marquee for any public gathering, and the fire certificate isn’t sewn into the marquee, don’t buy it.
